How do I create a data CD/DVD with Windows Vista integrated support?

Use the following steps to create a data CD/DVD with Windows Vista integrated support.

  1. Place a blank, writable CD or DVD in the optical drive.

  2. From the Windows Vista default Start menu, click Computer.

  3. In the Computer window, select the drive letter of the optical drive, and then click the files or folders that you want to copy to the CD/DVD. To select more than one file, hold down the CTRL key while you click the files that you want.

  4. In the Computer window, click Burn.

  5. In the Burn a Disc dialog box, enter the appropriate title, and then click Next.

    Note: Selecting Show formatting options displays the following screen.

  6. In the Calculating time remaining dialog box, click Yes.

    Note: If prompted with the Format Disc dialog box, click Yes.

  7. The disc is formatted and the files burn to the disc.
