Windows Mail

Windows Mail is a new e-mail client that replaces Outlook Express.

Use the following steps to open Windows Mail:

1. From the Windows Vista default Start menu, click All Programs, and then click Windows Defender.

   Note: Windows Defender can also be opened by typing Start Search keyword: winmail.

When Windows Mail is opened the first time, a setup wizard takes you through the steps to set up e-mail.

Troubleshoot common problems with Windows Mail:

• I cannot receive e-mail.
• I can receive but not send e-mail messages.
• I cannot view or save an attachment in Windows Mail.
• When I click an e-mail link in my Web browser, it opens another e-mail program instead of Windows Mail.
• When I search for e-mail, not all of the messages matching my search show up in the results.
• The links do not work in an e-mail message I received.
